ESPI Director Jean-Jacques Tortora and ESPI Researchers Jules Varma and Clémence Poirier took part in the 13th European Space Conference that was held in Brussels on January 12-13th. ESPI is a partner of the European Space Conference and ESPI Director Jean-Jacques Tortora has been involved in the organization of this event for the last 12 years. This year’s theme was “Space Embracing a Changing World: Green, Digital, Resilience and Security”. Jean-Jacques Tortora moderated 4 sessions on:
- The Future of Commercial and Secure Public Telecommunications in Europe which brought together Timo Pesonen (Director General, DG DEFIS, European Commission), Roberto Viola (Director General, DG CONNECT, European Commission), Rodolphe Belmer (CEO, Eutlersat), Jean-Marc Nasr (Executive Vice President Space Systems, Airbus Defence and Space), Riadh Cammoun (Vice President Public and Regulatory Affairs, Thales Alenia Space) and Elodie Viau (Director of Telecommunication and Integrated Applications, Head of ECSAT, ESA)
- Space Data and Downstream Applications: A Tool for the Modernisation of Europe’s Economy which brought together Rodrigo da Cost (Executive Director, GSA), Evert Dudok (Executive Vice-President Connected Intelligence, Airbus Defence and Space), Vincent-Henri Peuch (Director of Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, ECMWF), Gregoire Berry (Business Development Director, Serco Europe) and Gard Ueland (Chairman, Galileo Services).
