This new ESPI Report provides an informed reflection on the implication that the emergence of new spacefaring players has for Europe. Specifically, the reports raises awareness among European-decision makers on the opportunities and challenges associated to the entry of new spacefaring nations in the international space arena.
Activities organised within this research project are driven by the following objectives:
- Provide a methodological framework to identify different types of space actors and define the lines between established and emerging spacefaring nations.
- Provide a review and analysis of space strategies, policies, programmes and sector developments in selected emerging spacefaring countries (the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Argentina, and South Korea)
- Discuss how current and planned developments in these countries may create important opportunities and challenges in the European Space Sector
