31 March 2017. On 28 March 2017, ESPI hosted its traditional evening event at the margins of the Legal Subcommittee of UNCOPUOS. This year’s event was dedicated to the presentation of Harry Eyres´ book “Seeing Our Planet Whole: The Cultural and Ethical Implications of Earth Observation” (Springer, 2017), which came out of a collaboration with ESA and ESPI where he was a part –time Senior Fellow from 2013 to 2016.
28 March 2017. On Monday, March 27th, ESPI was invited to present its report 62 on the “Governance of Galileo” to the GSA administrative board.
This presentation was given by Jean-Jacques Tortora, ESPI Director, and Serge Plattard, ESPI Senior resident fellow, in GSA premises in Prague, Czech Republic.

24 March 2017. At its last meeting held in Vienna on March 22nd, ESPI Advisory Council unanimously elected Geneviève Fioraso, former French Minister in charge of Space, as its new chairperson in replacement of Herbert Allgeier.

17 March 2017. On Friday 17 March 2017, ESPI’s Dr. Annette Froehlich and David Nader hosted representatives from Embassies and Permanent Missions from Latin American Countries based in Vienna to discuss the delimitation of outer space.
24 February 2017. Dr. Annette Froehlich gave a talk on “international space law and current challenges” on Friday 24 February 2017 at the Space Engineering Academy at Somerset West (SA).
24 February 2017. 20 – 24 February 2017. This year once more, Dr. Annette Froehlich lectured at the University of Cape Town for the Master Space Studies and its course „Space and Society“. This module comprises legal aspects, economic issues of space activities and space policy related issues.
