The use of outer space is of growing strategic and technological relevance. Space policy is therefore becoming an issue area of rising importance and visibility. The Studies in Space Policy Series, edited by ESPI and published by Springer Publications, is a European reference book series in this respect. It comprises volumes prepared by ESPI but also provides the opportunity for external researchers to prepare publications and contributions that contribute to the overall ESPI research agenda.

The series is complementary to the Yearbook on Space Policy. In addition to policy related topics concerning governance, international relations or applications, it also highlights cross-disciplinary approaches to topical space issues.
